Last week, Droman Solutions accepted an invite to Cyprus to present our immersive learning approach to a range of private and public sector organisations. Hosted by the British High Commission, we met amongst others, with executive teams from Police, Fire, G4S, Hellenic Bank and the Chamber of Commerce. What is clear from these meetings, is that the challenges of keeping organisation-wide training abreast of legal and regulatory requirements, in an affordable and accessible way for staff, is as much of a challenge in the Mediterranean, as it is in northern cooler climes.
We discussed the development of training in a range of subjects, GDPR, Health and Safety, customer service and core operational courses. We are grateful to the British High Commission for putting together a fabulous programme and the time spent by local senior management teams, who really stretched our concepts of how immersive learning can help them.
Consequently we have returned to Edinburgh with a long list of requests and queries to work through. As is so often the case, the differences between cultures and countries are far fewer than the similarities. We look forward to working with our Cypriot colleagues in reducing risk and providing engaging training for their staff.
Fortunately, they seem less willing to experience the joys of the UK winter, so reluctantly we may have to visit them again to develop our partnerships. It is a tough job but someone has to do it, as they say.
